Meeting with Veritas

Yesterday our group visted Veritas to introduce our ideas how the two windows will look like. Our contacpersons from Veritas were delighted to see our group´s results. They gave us some ideas how to make our ideas in practice.

During the next 1,5 weeks we now have to make some protypes, buy stuff for the window display and finally make the final product. It will be awesome!
Soon you will be able to go and have a look of our two windows and the other companies' window displays. Stay tuned.

How we reached the Island of Conclusion

After receiving our task from Veritas we were quite unanimous on how to go proceed with our work. We scheduled meetings both with our client and our fellow team, we planned ahead and helped each other out with different ideas.

Coming to Kunstenniemi meant a real kick start for the most creative 58 hours most of the team members had ever experienced and little did we know these days would be so packed with..well, everything. The flow, the non-flow, all the useful ideas and all those equally useless. We turned out to be a brilliant team with different skills that complimented each other nicely. Our team is composed of three different degree programs - we're experts in business, design and tourism. Our strengths include graphic design, computer skills, verbal talents and marketing not mentioning that we're enormously creative.

Working this way as a team has made it possible for us to utilize our strengths to the max and being reminded yet again that working as a team is way more efficient that trying to solve problems on your own. We came up with a cool concept - and ended up changing it completely at the last stretch. Now facing the home stretch of our time here at Kunstenniemi we just finished a presentation, a poster, a budget, final drawings and future ideas and we are very proud to present these to all of you tomorrow! Day 2.

Team Lento is in the midst of designing two themed windows for our client. We're drawing inspiration from Christmas, winter, different historical characters, old effects and the beautiful city surrounding the old building of Veritas. We feature some of our ideas so far!

We're in Kunstenniemi!

Team Lento is now four hours into their stay at Kunstenniemi, and we're doing creative!
Earlier Saara and Linda went to Veritas to "get in touch with history" if you will - we saw some cool historical effects :)

As I write, we're sitting together with a bunch of books stacked in the middle of the table, discussing the leading themes and main guidelines for our projects - STAY TUNED!

Kunstenniemi calling...

I'm really looking forward to our intensive "camp" in Kunstenniemi beginning tomorrow and ending it in Boost Turku's Start-up Farm on Friday afternoon. I think this will be a nice variation in the routines for many of us and it will be nice to be able to spend a little more time outside and in an calm and refreshing climate. And of course - to get to know our fellow students from other universities in Turku and elsewhere from Europe better!

Final preparations tomorrow morning with a last visit to Veritas for some glimpses at their old "artifacts" and material, which we'll use as inspiration to plan our marketing campaign - and then it's off!

Final preparations...

Today we had a customer meeting with Veritas Pension Insurance together withg the other Inno-group that's working with Veritas. We went thorugh what material we can use for the marketing campaign we're planning, so that we have as much as possible to work with during our camp in Kunstenniemi. Tomorrow we will meet representatives again to further view what material is possible to use for the campaign. We also received some very handy litterature about the history of Veritas that we will use in our planning work. Tomorrow off to Kunstenniemi!

We decided within the group that everyone was to write a short introduction post on themselves; this way you'll get to know our team - Team Lento!

I'll go first :)
 Hello, my name is Linda Sjö - pleased to meet you! I'm originally from Espoo but for the past couple of years I've been living in Turku whilst studying for my degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Novia UAS. As me and my classmates began our studies we founded our co-op, cooperative Toptimal, and through this business we're at a constant search of new inspiring and interesting projects!
         My professional interests lie within marketing and advertising, languages, cultural encounters, people and tourist behavior. In spring 2012 I spent three months as a conservation corps volunteer in California, in the beautiful ocean-front town of Santa Cruz where I developed a deeper interest in sustainability matters.
        If I have any time to spare I enjoy sports, being outdoors, socializing, cooking and reading :)

I'm looking forward to working with a bunch of cool, enthusistic people at INNO - let's make it awesome for all!
